Google’s acquisition of Wiz is a bit surprising. Should half of the Fortune 100 companies trust an advertising company with their data security?

Google is still very much an advertising company, only around 20% by revenue from non-ads related business. They are good with indexing data. Should you really trust them with your corporate data security?

That’s actually a key reason why AWS was popular, unless you are Walmart or Netflix, you can’t really be seen as a competitor to Amazon’s core business, and they don’t really have a good reason to want access to your data. Similarly with Microsoft, they have been in the corporate world for long enough to know better on never to touch your data or you stop paying for Office365 subscriptions. But for Google, when their main business is still about making money from data, it is tricky to willingly give them access to all your IT security.
